DKI Jakarta Illegal Parking Guards Fined Rp255,000 due to Parking on Sidewalks

PojokPos. A illegal parking attendant operating around Sawah Besar, Central Jakarta, Askatp (53) underwent a trial of minor criminal offenses at the Central Jakarta District Court on Friday at 09.00 WIB.

At the hearing, the Chief of Staff was charged with a penalty of Rp255,000 or three days' imprisonment.

The trial was related to curbing activities carried out by the ranks of the Satpol PP District of Sawah Besar on Thursday, yesterday.

The head of the Sawah Besar District Satpol PP Task Force, Sugiarso, who led the activity had previously appealed to Asna to stop its activities two weeks ago.

"The person involved is still carrying out his activities," Sugiarso said when met by Tirto reporters in the Karang Anyar area, Sawah Besar, Central Jakarta on Thursday.

Sugiarso emphasized that Asna was charged under Article 10 of the DKI Jakarta Perda Number 8/2007. He is threatened with a maximum prison sentence of 90 days or a maximum fine of Rp30 million. The regulation was made in the era of former DKI Jakarta Governor Sutiyoso.

"That is, every person or entity may not hold a parking collection without the governor's permission," he said.

He hoped that the criminal bondage to Asna could provide a deterrent effect so that no one would repeat the same thing.
