Try to Ignore Customs Rules, There Are 72 Thousand E-commerce Import Transactions

BuletinNasional. In order to protect small and medium-sized industries in the country, the government through the Directorate General of Customs and Excise changed the rules related to the import of shipments via e-commerce.

Through the Minister of Finance Regulation (PMK) number 112 / PMK.04 / 2018, the government adjusts the de minimis value of import duties and taxes in the framework of imports (PDRI) of shipments from previously USD 100 to USD 75 per person per day .

The Ministry of Finance's Director General (Dirjen) of Customs and Excise, Heru Pambudi, said that after the policy it found a number of transactions carried out in an effort to avoid the obligation to pay import duties.

"There are some people who take advantage of the de minimis value by breaking up the shipment into several deliveries and below the de minimis value on the same day," he said, at the Press Conference, in Jakarta, Tuesday.

Heru said based on data on importation of shipments since October 10, 2018, there were around 72,592 Consignment Notes (CN) that were netted by anti-splitting systems.

"Since the announcement until now we detected identification of 72,592 transactions. The one that had tried to avoid the customs duty was set," he said.
This effort, he said, succeeded in saving the receipt of import duties and taxes in the framework of imports of approximately Rp. 4 billion.

"Because they are considered the mode of solution, they have to pay tax obligations and the amount," he said.
