So the Witness of the Meikarta Bribery Case, Deddy Mizwar was Examined by the KPK

RakyatDigital. Former West Java Deputy Governor Deddy Mizwar fulfilled the call of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigator regarding the Meikarta licensing bribery case on Wednesday.
"I think it is natural that the KPK asked for my information because I knew from the beginning," Deddy said at the KPK Building on Wednesday.

Deddy assessed the Meikarta project had indeed been problematic since the beginning. The reason is, the Meikarta project is in the Provincial Strategic Area (KSP), meaning that the spatial plan must get a provincial recommendation.
Furthermore, Deddy said that in mid-2017 it only gave recommendations for an area of 84.6 hectares for Meikarta.

"In accordance with the Governor's Decree of '93 because there has not been a change in spatial planning. What we have to give right to is its right, which is not its right or not, because violations of spatial planning are criminal," said Deddy.

KPK Spokesperson Febri Diansyah is still reluctant to specify the examination material for Deddy. However, he said one of the points to be asked to Deddy was a matter of recommendations regarding Meikarta's licensing.

Febri did not rule out the possibility of calling the Governor of West Java to be questioned about this case.
"Certainly according to the needs of the investigation, it is possible for the regional head to be summoned," Febri said.

The KPK determined nine suspects in this bribery case. Two of them are the Operational Director of Lippo Group Billy Sindoro, and Bekasi Regency Regent Neneng Hasanah Yasin. Billy allegedly gave Rp. 7 billion in bribes to Neneng to smooth Meikarta's licensing.

In the development of the investigation, the KPK found that the Meikarta problem had existed since the initial stages of licensing. The KPK even identified the flow of money for the management of changes to the Spatial Planning Regulation. This is done to accommodate the Meikarta project.

In addition, the KPK also found the use of backdate in a number of Meikarta licenses. The KPK also found information that was out of sync between Lippo officials and Lippo employees who were examined as witnesses.
